Three schools in Panama City are receiving thousands of dollars to enhance engineering courses.

The Society of American Military Engineers donated $74,000 to Haney Technical Center, Gulf Coast State College and Surfside Middle School.

Haney will use $30,000 for its welding program. Gulf Coast State College will use $20,000 for a scholarship program. Surfside is putting the $24,000 it's receiving toward a pre-engineering program it started back in 2007.
