GA Cheating leads to resignation
School official resigns over cheating allegations.

ATLANTA (AP) - The principal of a DeKalb County elementary
school has resigned and another administrator has been reassigned
amid a state probe of cheating on Georgia standardized tests.
DeKalb County Deputy Chief Superintendent Robert Moseley said
Thursday that Atherton Elementary principal James Berry has
resigned his post. He said assistant principal Doretha Alexander
has been reassigned pending the outcome of an investigation.
Berry and Alexander could not be reached for comment.
Moseley said the administrators changed answers on fifth-grade math Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests last summer to improve students' scores and help the school meet federal standards. The
school is one of four identified in an audit released by state officials Wednesday.
