1 cup real butter
1 cup water
2 cups all purpose flour (I use White Lily)
2 cups sugar
½ cup sour cream
1 teaspoon almond extract
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon soda
½ cup real butter
¼ cup plus 1 tablespoon milk
½ teaspoon almond extract
1 (l lb) box XXX sugar
1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped fine
In a large saucepan, bring water and butter to a boil.
In a large mixing bowl, have flour, sugar, salt and soda combined.
Pour boiling water mixture over dry ingredients.
Beat together slightly the eggs, sour cream and almond extract. Add to other ingredients and beat well. Batter will be thin.
Pour into a greased 15”x10”x1” (jelly roll) pan. Bake at 350 degree oven approximately 15 minutes or till done. Don’t over bake. Cool 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine butter and milk kin same saucepan. Bring to a boil – remove, add almond extract and sugar.
Beat till smooth. Add nuts.
Spread on warm cake. Let cool. Trim edges if desired. Cut into 60 party squares.
