Fruit Scones

Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • ½ cup fruit
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 stick butter
  • ½ cup buttermilk

    Directions

  • Combine flour and sugar.
  • Cut in butter until it resembles course meal.
  • Add fruit, then buttermilk.
  • Stir all ingredients until moistened and form a soft ball.
  • Turn out on a floured surface and pat out to 1 inch thickness.
  • Cut with a biscuit cutter.
  • Bake on a greased baking pan for 10 to 12 minutes at 400 degrees.
