Stained Glass Window Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. Salt, 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
  • 2 sticks butter, softened
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 32 hard candies (cherry Life Savers)

    Directions

    1. Beat butter, eggs “til fluffy (2 minutes). Beat in vanilla and dry
    ingredients. Divide dough in 1/2. Shape into disks.



    2. Wrap in plastic and chill 30 minutes. Roll dough to 3/8.” Use large round dough cutter to cut cookies. Use small heart and round cutter to cut out center. Fill in the center with hard candy (1 1/2 Life Saver per center).



    3. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 13 minutes on lower rack.
