Fruit Cake Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ cup margarine
  • 1 lb. dates
  • 4 egg yolks (save egg whites)
  • 1 box raisins
  • 3 tbsp. milk
  • 1 lb. cherries
  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • 4 cups chopped pecans
  • ½ cup orange juice

    Directions

    Cream margarine and sugar. Add egg yolks; blend well. Sift flour with cinnamon and add to cream mixture. Add milk and orange juice and mix well. Beat egg whites stiff. Fold into mixture and mix well. Dredge fruits and pecans with ½ cup flour and fold into mixture. Spoon onto cookie sheet and bake at 225 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
