Bingo, King's job performance dominate AG's race

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Republican Attorney General Troy King is under a stiff challenge in his own party's primary after openly feuding with Republican Gov. Bob Riley in a dispute over electronic bingo.

King was Riley's legal adviser in 2004 when he was appointed attorney general by Riley. After winning a full term in 2006, King for a time was considered a possible candidate for governor.

But this sparring with Riley and many of the state's district attorneys, including Republican prosecutors, has raised questions over whether he can win re-nomination against Birmingham attorney Luther Strange.

Strange lost narrowly in a race for lieutenant govenor in 2006.

Three attorneys - Michel (MI-SHEL) Nicrosi of Mobile, James Anderson of Montgomery and Giles Perkins of Birmingham - are engaged in a much more low-key race for the Democratic nomination for attorney general.

Its a shame that the people we put in office are afraid to step up to the plate and do whats right for the people of ala. They are more worried of how much there going to lose in the end. Wake up and do whats right or yall will be out.

Troy King is the only Atty General in Alabama history who could not interpret Alabama's gambling laws. He'll gone down in history as a sell-out to the gambling thugs aka bosses of Alabama. I've lost all respect for Troy King and would vote for a democrat over him!
