President Obama says the issues stopping thousands from signing up for health insurance online are in-excusable.
He says the online exchanges are still a good product and vows the website will be fixed.
For critics of the plan, such problems were inevitable and more evidence the whole thing should be tossed out.
But the president stresses the plan is far more than just a website. There are other ways to sign up, like phone banks and health centers.
"We end up being the spokespeople for the federal government so to speak because people can't go right to the feds," said Sarah Bailey with Progressive Community Health Centers. "So they come to us and say, 'What's going on?' And a lot of times we don't have that answer for them."
GOP critics want to know why Americans should pay penalties next year if they don't buy coverage when the website isn't working properly. The White House says those who don't have access to affordable insurance will not be penalized.
