MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Republican Associate Justice Tom Parker and three other Republicans appear headed toward victory in Alabama's appeals court races.
Parker is leading Democratic Circuit Judge Mac Parsons, of
Parker ran as the enemy of liberal interests who were trying to
unseat him on the Republican-controlled court.
Parsons portrayed him as lazy for a record of low productivity on the court.
In other races, Republicans are leading in their races for two
Supreme Court seats and one on the Civil Appeals court.
No matter the results, both the nine-member Supreme Court and five-member Civil Appeals Court will remain in GOP control.
