An attorney for indicted casino owner Milton McGregor says he will plead innocent at his arraignment Friday.
McGregor and 10 others are scheduled for arraignment Friday morning in federal court in Montgomery on charges accusing them of buying and selling votes on pro-gambling legislation.
Defense attorney Joe Espy said Thursday night he expects all the others to enter the same plea as McGregor.
“The charges that were brought against Mr. McGregor and the others, they're nothing more than accusations. They're not fact, they're not proof. Mr. McGregor and each of the others are presumed in our law innocent”, said Espy.
He also says McGregor won't seek to change the trial to another location because he has confidence in potential jurors from Alabama's Middle District, which stretches from Montgomery to Dothan.
