A nearly three-million dollar budget will help create a new expansion project for the Marianna Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Renovations include an additional 14 private rooms as well as new amenities for residents. City officials plan to add seventeen-thousand square feet to the existing building. Architects will connect the center to the Jackson County Public Health Unit.
"We're also going to have more state of the art equipment in the gym itself. We'll have a physician treatment room, a speech therapy room; it's going to be exciting," said Melinda Gay, an administrator at the rehab center.
Next up Marianna city officials are targeting a demolition plan for the Jackson County Public Health Unit.
