DOTHAN, AL - Judge Patrick Davenport says the Houston County elections went well.

Even with new polling machines, the voter ID law and new voting locations, they say there were no big problems.

Sixteen percent of Houston County residents voted Tuesday.

Probate Judge Patrick Davenport says he was hoping the turnout would be closer to 20 percent.

But he says it's consistent with having so many uncontested races.

Davenport says he stopped by all 28 polling locations and was pleased to see people getting in and out without much trouble.

The election staff is meeting in a few days to make any changes for the the upcoming run-off election on July 15th.
