ATLANTA (AP) -- Georgia voters will soon decide 21 primary runoff elections, including nominations for Congress and the statewide superintendent's post.

In southeast Georgia's 1st District, state Sen. Buddy Carter of Pooler faces Bob Johnson, a Savannah surgeon backed by local tea party groups.

Minister and conservative talk radio host Jody Hice of Monroe faces Mike Collins of Jackson, a trucking company owner, in northeast Georgia's 10th District.

Former GOP congressman Bob Barr of Smyrna is seeking a comeback in Georgia's 11th District seat north of Atlanta. He's had stiff competition from state Sen. Barry Loudermilk of Cassville, a tea party-backed candidate.

Republicans and Democrats must also decide their party's nominations for state school superintendent.

More than 159,000 early ballots had been cast by Friday.
