Florida Senate Passes Health Care Freedom Act

The Florida state senate approves the "Health Care Freedom Act."

In a 29-to-10 vote, lawmakers approved the bill sponsored by Senate President Mike Haridopolos.

If it passes in the House, an amendment will appear on the 2012 ballot.

Critics say even if voters give it the green light, the measure is bound to be ruled unconstitutional.

Supporters of the bill say the health care law itself is an unconstitutional mandate.
