Campaign Finance Law Brings Changes to Political Donations from Corporations


Starting today, corporations can give unlimited amounts to political candidates.

A measure passed earlier this year amended the fair campaign practices act to repeal the $500 cap on corporate contributions.

Lawmakers said the limit was a “pretend cap” because corporations could give multiple donations to action committees which could give unlimited amounts to candidates.
