MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli
has endorsed Birmingham attorney Luther Strange in his race for attorney general of Alabama.
Cuccinelli campaigned with Strange in Alabama Tuesday. During a stop in Montgomery, Strange said he supports a lawsuit the Virginia attorney general has filed to stop new federal health care legislation. Strange said he also supports a lawsuit Alabama has filed with 20 states including Florida to stop implementation of the health care bill.
Cuccinelli and Strange are both Republicans. Cuccinelli said he supports Strange partly because he knows he will be an ally in fighting the health care legislation.
Strange faces Montgomery lawyer James Anderson, a Democrat, in the Nov. 2 general election.
