It didn't take long for the GOP presidential candidates to jump on the new jobs report.
The Labor Department says employers added 227,000 jobs in February. The unemployment rate did not budge, remaining at 8.3 percent.
Mitt Romney held a town hall in Jackson, Mississippi, Friday where he took the opportunity to blast president Obama's record of job creation.
"You see that sign up there says more jobs, less debt, smaller government?" he asked the crowd. "That's what we want and that is not what we got. With this president we have fewer jobs, we have more debt and we have bigger government. That's what's wrong with this president. That's why we have to get him out of office."
The GOP candidates are continuing to focus on Mississippi and Alabama in the next couple of days. Both states hold primaries on Tuesday, March 13.
