MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama's race for state treasurer is
attracting more interest than normal because of the candidates'
names and the lack of an incumbent in the race.
The Republican primary Tuesday features a member of Alabama's
most famous political family, George Wallace Jr., against retired
banker Young Boozer. Boozer has assured voters that his name is
real, but it has been the subject of many jokes, including Jay
The Democratic primary pits former state Conservation
Commissioner Charley Grimsley against attorney Jeremy Sherer.
The incumbent treasurer, Kay Ivey, is running for lieutenant
