Because of scheduling conflicts with both candidates, WTVY-TV will delay the taping and airing of a political forum between State Senator Harri Ann Smith and Republican challenger George Flowers.

WTVY had planned to tape the "Focus on the Future" fourm on Monday but cancelled those plans after Senator Smith was arrested at 7am this morning at her home in Slocomb.

She and ten others including Victoryland owner Milton McGregor and Country Crossing developer Ronnie Gilley are being charged with conspiracy for taking campaign bribes to promote pro-gambling legislation.

Plans to air the forum on WTVY-TV on Sunday 12/10 from 9am-10am and on MyNet from 3pm-4pm have been cancelled.

News 4 is working with both candidates to reschedule the taping.

We will let you know when a new air date is decided.
