MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - The executive secretary of the Alabama
Education Association, Paul Hubbert, says he expects to stay out of the governor's race because he considers both candidates friendly to education.
Hubbert told The Tuscaloosa News that Democrat Ron Sparks and
Republican Robert Bentley have been decent supporters of public education and would listen to his organization's concerns.
Hubbert says AEA will focus on legislative races unless one of the candidates for governor takes a turn against AEA.
The legislative and gubernatorial elections are Nov. 2.
