George Isaac Harris, age 73, of Ozark, died Friday morning, August 14, 2009, in Ozark Health and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be 2:00 P. M. Sunday, August 16, 2009, from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Reverend William Hart and Reverend Joe Underwood officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Saturday afternoon. Mr. Harris was born January 23, 1936 in Dale County to the late Henry and Imogene Deloney Harris. He attended school in Dale County and served in the Army National Guard. He owned and operated Harris TV and Electronics for over forty years, and following his retirement he still enjoyed helping people with their television needs. Mr. Harris was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed gardening and sharing the food from his garden with friends and neighbors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Russell Harris, and one brother-in-law, Ron Vaeth. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Armstrong Harris of Ozark; one son and daughter-in-law, George and Marla Harris of Dothan; two grandchildren, Hannah Harris and Holland Harris of Dothan; one step-daughter, Terri and Jack Skoch of Layfayette, Alabama; one step-son, Keith and Patti Jones of Ozark; three step-grandchildren, Shawn Ivey, Kevin Jacobs, and Austin Arnett; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Elaine and Harry Potts, Martha and Billy Smith, and Mary Vaeth all of Ozark; one brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Donna Harris of Ozark. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 West Main Street ~ Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama 36301.
