Thelma Irene Morris Ward Bunch, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday June 12, 2009 at Extendicare Health Center. She was 89. Funeral services for Mrs. Bunch will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Rev. Daryl Cook officiating. Burial will follow at 12 noon in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Geneva with Southern Heritage directing. Flowers will be accepted. Mrs. Bunch was born July 5, 1919 in Geneva County, Alabama to Willie Lee and Jessie Lena Boddye Morris. Prior to her retirement, she was employed with Supreme Ice Cream, Dothan Nursing Home and also worked as a caretaker for the elderly. She loved spending time with her family and friends, fishing, sewing, gardening, traveling, playing dominoes and bingo with friends and family. Her parents; two brothers; daughter, Merle Ward, and two husbands, Leslie Jackson Ward and Glenn Bunch, precede Mrs. Bunch in death. Survivors include three sons, L.J. and Aida Ward, Dothan, Bennie and Deborah Ward, Montgomery, Roger Ward, Atlanta, GA.; daughters, Sallie and Charles Downer, Webb, Margie and David Inscor, Atlanta, GA., Linda and John Roach, Webb, Mellanie and Jeff Achilles, Dothan; 20 grandchildren, Chandlee Englehart, Ricky Ward, Shawna Neal, Salina Hicks, Sharon Hutto, Stephanie Gallaher, David Inscor, Andrea Inscor, John Roach, Bennie Roach, Ronald Roach, Kasandra Denney, Anna McKenzie, Michelle Tice, Tammy Bang, Melissa Ward, Russell Ward, Joel Ward, Jonathan Cole, Eryn Haslip; 27 great-grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Serving as active pallbearers will be Russell Ward, Joel Ward, Bennie Roach, Ricky Ward, Jonathan Cole and Tony Haslip.
