Joycelyn Lalaine Baker Hale, age 72, of Ozark, died Monday afternoon, June 8, 2009, at her home. Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Thursday, June 11, 2009, from Ozark Baptist Church with Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Mrs. Hale’s body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time on Thursday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P. M. until 7:00 P. M. Wednesday evening. Mrs. Hale was born May 16, 1937 in Louisville, Alabama to the late Roy and Sarah Edna Beatty Baker. In 1958 she received her Batchelor of Science Degree in Business Education from Troy State College, and in 1979 she received her Masters Degree from Troy University. Mrs. Hale was a devoted teacher and educator for 37 years, retiring from G. W. Long as a business education teacher. She continued her teaching endeavors as Adjunct Faculty Member at Troy University in Dothan. Following her retirement, she spent several years as Manager of the Ozark-Dale County Chamber of Commerce. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Kelle Lalaine Hale. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Dan Hale of Ozark; two sons, Danl Hale and wife Shasta of Eufaula, and Stan Hale of Montgomery; one sister, Evelyn Beaty of Louisville, Alabama; two grandchildren, Whitney Hale and Hannah Hale. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Ozark Baptist Church Women’s Missionary Union, 282 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360; or Community Hospice of Dale Medical Center, 126 Hospital Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
