The First United Methodist Church of Ozark Announces Senior Pastor

The First United Methodist Church of Ozark is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. R. Michael Sigler as senior pastor effective July 1. Rev. Michael Sigler is currently pastor at the First United Methodist Church in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida. He also writes a column entitled “Sunday School Commentaries” found on the Alabama-West Florida Conference United Methodist Church website,

Mike and his wife, Vicki, have three grown children. His father, the late Dr. R.O. (Dick) Sigler, was a pastor in south Alabama. His mother, Naomi, currently resides in Dothan. Mike has two brothers: Rev. Ralph Sigler, founding pastor of Harvest Church, Dothan; and Wayne Sigler, choir director for Frazier UMC, Montgomery.

Mike is a graduate of Auburn University and attended Asbury Seminary School. In 1986 he became a UMC Deacon and in 1988 he became an Elder in Full Connection. His first appointment was to Gadsden Street UMC, Pensacola, FL in 1986; Pine Grove UMC in 1989; Daphne UMC in 1992; Aldersgate UMC, Montgomery in 2001; Epworth UMC, Phenix City in 2006; First UMC, Ft Walton Beach, FL in 2008.

First United Methodist Church of Ozark is excited to have Mike join the congregation as its new senior pastor. The congregation looks forward to Mike sharing his knowledge and experiences with the church and also with the surrounding community. Please help us welcome the Sigler family to our community. All are invited to greet Rev. Mike Sigler and attend his first worship service on Sunday, July 6.
