BOISE - Boise State football head coach Chris Petersen announced the signings of cornerback Cleshawn Page (Los Angeles), kicker Tyler Rausa (Murrieta, Calif.) and running back Derrick Thomas (Dothan, Ala.) to National Letters of Intent, Wednesday.
All three will join the Broncos in January.
"We're excited about all three of these guys," Petersen said. "They come from outstanding programs and we welcome them into the Bronco family."
Page, who will join the Broncos as a junior, played for Los Angeles Harbor College after graduating from Dorsey High School in Los Angeles. As a sophomore for the Seahawks in 2012, Page, 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, registered 44 tackles (28 solo), including 2.5 for-loss. He also forced a fumble, recovered another and broke up four passes.
Rausa, who will join the Broncos as a sophomore, played for Riverside City College this last season after graduating from Vista Murrieta High School in Murrieta, Calif. Following his final prep campaign season, Rausa was named Los Angeles Times California Special Teams Most Valuable Player, and was named all-state, all-CIF, all-county, All-Southern Section and All-Southwestern League. The senior captain was also named MaxPreps All-American in leading his squad to the 2011 CIF Championship.
Thomas, a 6-1, 210-pound running back from Dothan, Ala. (Northview High School), spent the last three seasons at Butler Community College in El Dorado, Kan. He will join the Broncos as a redshirt junior in 2012. This past season Thomas carried 157 times for 829 yards and nine touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns in helping to lead the Grizzlies to the NJCAA National Championship game.
