A viewer shared with us information about an upcoming event that allows participants to play fun games while remembering the death of two area residents.
The Daisy Games will take place at Stegall Park in Ozark on Saturday, May 4 at 8 a.m.
Daisy Games is a Mush Ball Tournament, scholarship fundraiser, for Brittany Shepard Pugh, and her son Shep who were killed in a tragic car accident on March 7, 2011.
According to Brittany's sister, she was an inspiration to many throughout her short life, so to keep her memory alive one of the avenues pursued through the tournament is the Brittany S. Pugh Legacy Scholarship.
The scholarship was presented to a recipient in 2012 and 2013. All proceeds to the tournament go to raise money for this scholarship. The scholarship fund will help a young lady continue her education just as if Brittany were still here encouraging the recipient along.
The daisy was Brittany's favorite flower and a friend created the logo with Brittany and Shep's first initial. The daisy has quickly become a symbol of hope, love and remembrance. The Daisy Games, no matter what sport or activity from year-to-year, is a happy reminder of Brittany and Shep's continued presence and competitive spirit.
