BEST Robotics is a mulch-faceted competition.
Schools enter and build a robot and then sell that robot. Each school is encouraged to develop a “company” within itself.
Carroll High School developed Carroll Robotics for the 2013 BEST Competition. This competition was held this past Saturday, Nov. 2nd, at the Dothan Civic Center. There were 11 teams competing this year.
This is the second year that our company, Carroll Robotics, has competed in the BEST Robotics competition.
We have incorporated every academy at Carroll High School and almost 200 students participated in some way.
Our team worked hard for six weeks to create a robot worthy to compete. At the end of competition, our robot placed 5th an improvement from last year when we placed 7th.
This is only the first year that we have participated in the entire BEST Competition, which includes booth design, engineering notebook and marketing aspects of a business.
Our marketing team was able to prepare a marketing plan and present it, pass out flyers throughout the schools in the Ozark area, create a Twitter and Instagram page, build a booth, fundraise, design videos and much more.
In our first year of participating in the entire BEST competition, Carroll placed 3rd overall.
We hope to only better ourselves as next year’s BEST competition rolls around and we begin to work again.
We wish the winners of this year’s competition, Wicksburg High School and Rehobeth Middle School, the best of luck at Auburn.
We are cheering for you!
