Students Share Leadership Experiences at Upteen Showcase

Students from Dothan and Northview High Schools wrapped up their summer experience with Dothan's Upteen Program Tuesday night.

The Program held its showcase at the Andrew Belle Community Center. Students shared their testimonials of working together to build leadership skills, to be more productive members of society.

Keynote speakers included, Mayor Mike Schmitz, Tim Wilder and Mary Palo.

Upteen's program continues into the 2012-2014 school year with an additional program for students called, "Reconnect."

"It holds up the different positive values such as courage or integrity or honor or you know, things like that to help promote values and in doing so to help promote a sense of personal value," says Upteen Coordinator Jason Williams.

There are twenty-four students part of Upteen's program, all of which are selected to join by their teachers for their unique leadership skills.
