Students at Headland Elementary School are getting their hands a little dirty.
Fifth graders tested the pH of the soil at the school's playground.
They used GPS's, compasses, seeds and pH paper to get the information.
The results were shared with scientists across the world.
It is all part of the AMSTI program.
