In addition to football, music is also taking center stage at Northside Methodist Academy this year.
The school has also started a new marching band. Students picked up their instruments on Wednesday morning. However, students only have a few weeks to practice before playing on the field.
“The main thing is that the students have fun and they enjoy what they're doing and feel confident in what they're doing,” said Band Director Mark Brantley. “So as long as they're having fun and they're enjoying it, they're going to put everything they have into it.”
Students will play everything from classical to contemporary music. The Band Director says future competitions are also in the works.
