Law enforcement was informed that someone was planning on shooting up GW Long School today.
Authorities called the school and it was immediately put on lockdown.
Dale County Sheriff Deputies and Alabama State Troopers were sent to the school. Authorities did not find anything on the campus but they were able to track down the person behind the threats. However, they were not able to find the threat online.
The Dale County School Superintendent says safety was the number one priority.
The suspect was released from the sheriff's department around 3:30 p.m.

A person of interest is being questioned by police about a threat against GW Long High School and a local grocery store.
At this time. no one has been arrested. The school remains on lockdown, however the status of the lockdown has been changed to a "soft" lockdown.

WTVY is at the scene, and reports that the lockdown was implemented following a threatening twitter post. Authorities were alerted to the post and decided to lockdown the school to investigate; the threatening post has not been found.
Threatening talks were also heard at a nearby grocery store.
