Northside Methodist Academy is getting off the sidelines this football season.

The school has a new football team. Training starts on Monday.

Coach Paul Newton says training will start on Monday and players will practice three hours a day, five days a week.

Currently 20 students are registered for the team, Newton says he is hoping for more.

“Its going to be hot, if its raining we are going to go inside. There won’t be any time off for weather. It does not matter about heat or rain, we will just keep them hydrated and keep them working because we’ve got a lot to do in a little bit of time,” said Newton.

The football team does need funding. If you would like to help, donations can be made to Northside Methodist Academy.
