Bookbags may soon be a thing of the past at Carroll High School.
That is because students are getting ‘Take-Home Laptops’.
The laptops are a part of the school’s one-on-one initiative. It is a program that allows students to do course work in and outside the classroom on school issued laptops.
“Some students may not have a computer at home. They may have to go to a library or a friend’s house to type that paper or research that paper,” explained Assistant Principal Mike Stough. “This allows them the opportunity to do it at home and be more focused at school.”
The lap tops are specially engraved so they cannot be stolen. Their servers are also blocked and monitored by a state security system.
