Local teachers are learning some new ways to teach students in the Wiregrass about wildlife.
The Wiregrass Resource, Conservation and Development Center held a workshop Thursday that provided educators with resources and new ideas for teaching about habitats, conservation and the area's ecosystem.
The teaching tools relate more to Southeast Alabama's ecosystem rather than the national ecosystem they learn about in textbooks.
"There is an abundance of resources that teachers get to take home with them to use in their classrooms to use in teaching these materials," said Kellie Kuyl of Wiregrass Resource Conservation and Development.
This workshop is the first of six coming up and you can get more information about the upcoming dates by calling 774-2334.
