Wallace Community College received a $20,000 grant from MetLife. The extra funds will be put to use through the nursing program.

Officials say it will act as a threefold: it will help qualified nursing students pay for their exam.

Other parts will be used to buy videos assisting students’ skills for home health care facilities and also space and training aids for those in the home health care system.

"We did not have the funding to provide the three components that we were doing, these are extras that we can add on now because we have the available funding," says Dr. Linda Young, President of Wallace Community College.

Wallace is one of 17 schools across the nation to receive the grant.
