About 800 students attend Golson Elementary School on Second Avenue in Marianna.
Traffic in front of the school used to be one-way only during drop-off and pick-up hours and parallel parking was allowed on both sides of the street.
But now the street is one-way and angled parking is permitted only on the south side.
There are plenty of signs to direct traffic and a new fence has also been installed to keep students from running into the street.
Marianna Police Chief Lou Roberts sent three children through Golson Elementary and he said he's seen a few near-miss accidents.
School officials are urging parents to be patient and cautious in the school zone.
