Dothan residents will go to the polls Sept. 10 to vote on a three-mill property tax increase for city schools.
The vote will apparently include all Dothan residents that live in Houston and Henry counties, but not those living in Dale County.
At Wednesday night's Dothan school board meeting, board members asked if everything was in order for the upcoming election.
Board attorney Jere Segrest reported that the Dale County Commission would not meet the legal deadline to include their residents in the vote.
Dothan has around 70 students that live in Dale County.
Dale County Commission Chair Eunice Hagler said the resolution was received last Friday and there has not been adequate time to consider it.
If Dale County does not participate in the Sept. 10 election in Dothan, then the Dale County Commission will have to schedule and pay for a separate election.
