Dr. Glenda S. Curry delivers keynote address to Montgomery Campus graduates

MONTGOMERY—Dr. Glenda S. Curry, Rector of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Homewood, Ala., urged Troy University graduates on Monday night to pursue their mission in life.

“I believe we are all on a mission in life,” Curry said. “God does not take us for granted. He uses our strengths and weaknesses just as we are, where we are.”

Curry delivered the keynote address during the summer commencement ceremony for the Montgomery Campus on Monday, July 27, inside the Davis Theatre for the Performing Arts. Dr. Jack Hawkins, Jr., Chancellor, awarded degrees to 138 graduates.

Prior to becoming an ordained priest in the Episcopal Church, Curry served as president of TROY’s Montgomery Campus and was also dean of TROY’s School of Nursing. She received a Master of Divinity from the University of the South in 2002.

She encouraged the graduates to work through adversity in pursuing their future goals.

“Some of the hardest times when I felt like giving up were the times I grew the most,” Curry said.

“The work you pursue now will have the chance to change your life … and make the world a better place.”
