One Wiregrass school district is ready to absorb the proposed cuts in the state education money.
The Enterprise City School Board met in special session Monday. Supt. Dr. Jim Reese says the picture from the state is not as bleak as initially anticipated.
Dr. Reese was expecting a $1.5 million cut in funds, but it will only be a little more than $700,000.
Dr. Reese says through cost saving and local money, the Enterprise system will continue without any cutbacks.
There's also money in the budget for new textbooks.
