Dothan high school art students are brightening downtown Dothan with a mural. During lunch each day, students are painting a mural on an old store front.
But their plans to have it finished by Dothan’s Christmas Festival have been derailed by bad weather.
The group had planned to unveil the mural this upcoming weekend, but cold air and rain have made it nearly impossible.
The mural is modeled after Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Project Supervisor and Art Teacher Joan Lamb says, “We were in hopes that it would be something that we could show a grand presentation during this weekend, but the weather just did not help us any"
The group hopes to have the mural finished in another two weeks.
