The latest trends in distance learning were the focus of a meeting of Troy University faculty and staff Monday in Dothan.
Troy University Distance Learning Programs will have a new tool to authenticate online students.
The remote proctor will first be introduced into graduate programs to make sure the universities on-line exams are secure.
Along with the typical username and password, the system will also verify the student's fingerprint and also monitor their movements via motion detector and camera.
If the system detects a red flag, a proctor will be able to take action.
The set will cost around $128-dollars and will be sold through the Troy University bookstore.
