Houston County schools are looking into safety procedures.
Sgt. Randy Anderson has been a school resource officer for 18 years in Houston County.
Since Sheriff Andy Hughes took over in Houston County, Sgt. Anderson says security measures and programs have been amped up in the area.
This includes going over a reviewing policies with each individual principal and the superintendent.
Sgt. Anderson says that an emergency notification system is currently in place.
It is used to call home phones and cell phones in case of severe weather or other potential emergencies.
