Twenty-four Alabama public school systems have been nationally recognized by a consulting firm for meeting the needs of families who are choosing schools for their children. Only sixteen percent of the nation's school systems earn this distinction, and schools in the Wiregrass are among them..
The firm is called SchoolMatch. It ranks schools for companies that are looking for site locations. School-Match recognizes about 2,500 schools out of a field of nearly 16-thousand. The schools that are chosen are honored with the “What Parents Want” award.
Aside from class size, SchoolMatch looks at test scores, accreditation, and competitive teacher salaries. Also honored this year were city schools in Ozark, Daleville, and Enterprise.
