World Baseball Classic Qualification in Florida Concludes

Florida has the Miami Marlins, but over the past few days, they've played host to baseball of a different kind.

At Jupiter’s Roger Dean Stadium, spring training home of the Marlins and Cardinals, teams from France, Spain, South Africa, and Israel fought it out for the right to play in march's 2013 World Baseball Classic.

This qualifying round was modified double elimination-style. Spain and Israel played Sunday night for the final.

And, after extra innings, Team Spain clinched their berth in the classic, beating Israel 9 to 7 in ten innings.

Amazingly, there were seven batters hit by pitches in the contest.

Today, in Germany, teams from Germany and Canada will battle for another spot in the World Baseball Classic.
