X-Men. Superman. Spider-Man. Batman. These are some of the most recognizable names in the world of comic books.

But, one title is surprising comic fans across the country with the amount of pre-orders that is has received.

The first issue of the comic My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has received over ninety thousand pre-orders before its late November release.

The show that it is based on, while primarily targeted at young girls, has gained a massive following of adults of all ages, some of whom identify themselves with the term Bronies.

The comic, to be published by comic company IDW Publishing, has even outsold contemporary issues of such mainstay titles as Uncanny X-Men, a title that has been in circulation since 1962!

The success of the comic has led comic shops and retailers to request or produce a large number of exclusive cover variants, some of them highlighting popular background characters from the animated series.

Issue #1 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic will be released in both paper and digital form on November 28.
