News 4 would also like to extend our appreciation to the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fansite, “Equestria Daily,” for helping to make our report on the “Brony Herd Census” the most popular article on our webchannel!

As part of their “Nightly Roundup,” the website linked to that report, saying, “Our pony friendly buddies over at WTVY are back again with another pony report, this time telling their viewers about the Brony Herd Census. Check below for a link to their page which contains an article as well as a video. Keep being awesome WTVY!”

Viewers have responded with comments and views to stories on our webchannel about Star Trek, new holidays, and My Little Pony.

Monday, we told you about a parody of “Star Trek” made by the Internal Revenue Service. On our Facebook page, News 4 asked viewers if they were fans of the iconic science-fiction franchise, and if so, which series that they enjoyed the most. Jarrod Cooper says that he enjoys “The Next Generation,” “Deep Space Nine,” and “Voyager.” Jacqueline Pabon comments that, “My husband is like the biggest fan he has all the movies, the entire collection of every TV series, a special Borg series and collects Star Trek related items even plays an online game with guys from work. Our favorite is The Next Generation.” Meanwhile, Mike Miller says, “I'm 37 [and have] never seen an episode.”

Tuesday was the unofficial holiday called “Make Up Your Own Holiday Day.” We asked our viewers and readers what holidays they wanted to see. Here are some of their ideas.
Leah Graves: Step-Parent Day
Dia Mongoven: Random Act of Kindness Day
Matthew Martin & Etta Domino: Family Day
Jamie Brand: Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Day
Nicole Brackin: Free Root Canal Day (Because, she says, “I could save a lot of [money] today lol.”)
Lisa Allgeier: Single Woman Over 40s Day
Teresa Goodwin: Monday was boring I need a break Tuesday holiday

This past weekend, the “Big Apple Ponycon” convention took place in New York. The convention celebrates My Little Pony, including the latest series called Friendship is Magic that has attracted a large adult fandom. One reader, going by the username, “Tara’s Headphones” (named after Tara Strong, who voices Twilight Sparkle, one of the “Mane 6” characters of the series) tweeted us a picture on the convention. The picture shows another voice actress, Andrea Libman, at the convention’s opening ceremonies. (Libman voices another two of the ponies, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy.) News 4 has reported on Libman before, in regards to a charity bicycle ride to raise money for cancer. Libman has reached and surpassed her goal of 15 thousand dollars, and is the 9th highest fundraiser for the Ride to Conquer Cancer. The ride takes places in June in Canada’s British Columbia province.
