A would-be robber got more than he bargained for Monday when he tried to steal a wallet from a man waiting in line inside a Worcester, MA pizza shop.
Turns out the the man holding the wallet was none other than Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr.
Early says he became suspicious when he noticed 27 year-old Jason Beudreau of Worcester, MA watching him very closely as he took out his wallet to prepare to pay for his pizza.
Early said he made the decision to put his wallet back in his pocket -- and pay when his food was ready.
When it was time to pay for his food -- Early says he pulled out his wallet and that's when Beudreau tried to grab and dash with the DA's wallet.
A couple of restaurant workers came over and helped District Attoney Early subdue Beudreau until police got there.
Beudreau was arrested and pleaded not guility to assault and battery and unarmed robbery charges in court Monday.
