Nintendo will reveal the price and release date of its highly-anticipated “Wii U” video game console this Thursday.
The popular video game company will reveal this in a press conference on Thursday.
Nintendo has seen great success with its Wii system, which sold tens of millions of consoles since its release in 2006. Led by enduring franchises such as Super Mario Brothers and Pokemon, and bolstered by what some call the “casual” gaming market, the Wii was popular with a wide audience.
The Wii U’s trademark—known so far—is the controller, melding the analog sticks and buttons of a traditional game controller with the touchscreen of a tablet or celluar phone.
The Wii U will also use the traditional “Wiimotes,” which are the popular motion-detecting controllers used by Nintendo’s current home console.
