A few online-related services on Nintendo’s Wii console are set to be shut down in late June.
The original Nintendo Wii was released in 2006, and now, seven years later, the video game titan is set to shut down some of its free online channels that deliver such things as news and weather.
On June 28th, 2013, Nintendo of America will end operations of the News Channel, Forecast Channel, Everybody Votes Channel and others. These free applications delivered news, weather, and unique poll questions to Wii users.
No other services will be affected, and all purchased games will continue to be played as normal.
