Local Teachers Get a Well Needed Surprise...

Even though the holiday season is right around the corner, one local company is starting early with the gift of giving.

Tuesday, Sam’s Cub surprised 20 teachers at South Dale Middle School with fifty dollar gift cards.

You do that math...that's a total of 1-thousand dollars!

Sam's Club officials say on average, teachers spend about 525-dollars of their own money every year on school supplies.

"I think it's great to be recognized. I know a lot of schools nowadays are trying to do more with less and we are definitely in that same boat but our teachers feel uh are appreciative of this award," said Principal David West.

The winners of the gift cards will be selected Wednesday at school and they will get to spend the extra cash on goodies for their classroom.
